Rain in Hyderabad and Telangana  to Continue, Yellow Alert Issued

Hyderabad: Hyderabad experienced light to moderate rains on Sunday morning, resulting in pleasant weather and overcast skies. While light rains are expected throughout the day, a brief intense downpour is anticipated in the evening. Heavy rains have been forecasted for North and Central Telangana until the evening. Temperatures in Hyderabad on Saturday were around 24 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 24.4 degrees Celsius, and are expected to range between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius for the next two days. The city recorded moderate rainfall of approximately 30 mm overnight.

North Telangana faced heavy, continuous rains overnight, particularly affecting Nizamabad, Jagtial, Nirmal, Mancherial, Adilabad, Peddapalli, Asifabad, Mulugu, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, and Kamareddy. Mupukal in Nizamabad recorded 185.5 mm of rain, the second-highest this month, while Aloor and Balkonda in Nizamabad received 150.5 mm and 143.8 mm, respectively. Isolated places in Nirmal, Mulugu, Jagtial, and Adilabad had rainfall exceeding 100 mm. By 12 pm Sunday, Mallampalli in Mulugu recorded 98 mm, and Venkatapally in Mulugu 64 mm.

Overall, heavy rains have diminished to moderate to heavy rains in North Telangana, with lighter rains across the state. A yellow alert has been issued for Hyderabad, and heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet districts. Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely in isolated places across Telangana.
