Rahul Gandhi Launches Congress Manifesto and 5 Guarantees

Hyderabad: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi during a Congress “Jana Jatara Sabha” in Tukkuguda, where he drew parallels between Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their alleged use of government agencies for phone tapping and extortion. Gandhi criticized the Modi government, claiming it has turned the “Enforcement Directorate” into an “Extortion Directorate.”

Calling the electoral bonds the “world’s largest scam,” he said that it was all about ‘”paisa do, dhandha lo.”

Gandhi also raised concerns about the alleged correlation between companies receiving large infrastructural projects and their donations to the BJP through electoral bonds. He sarcastically referred to the BJP as running the “world’s biggest washing machine.”

Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi unveiled five guarantees from the Congress manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections:

  1. Apprenticeship Guarantee Programme: A scheme where job-seekers would be trained and employed as apprentices in both public and private sectors for one year, with a yearly remuneration of Rs 1 lakh.
  2. Naari Nyay: A promise to ensure that no household in India has an income less than Rs 1 lakh per year. This would involve depositing Rs 1 lakh annually in the bank account of one woman from every family across the country.
  3. Loan Waiver for Farmers: A commitment to waive off all loans of farmers.
  4. MSP Legal Protection: Ensuring legal protection for the minimum support price (MSP) by using the formula suggested by Bharat Ratna Dr MS Swaminathan.
  5. Shramik Nyay: A pledge to introduce minimum wage legislation for workers engaged in the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and elsewhere, guaranteeing a minimum wage of Rs 400 per day.

These guarantees reflect the Congress party’s promises and initiatives they plan to undertake if they come to power in the upcoming elections.
