Hyderabad: A 25-year-old laborer named Mohan caused a protest in Sankeshwar Bazaar, Saidabad, by climbing a high-tension electricity tower after being scolded by his wife for returning home drunk.
The incident took place near their residence in the Singareni Colony. Concerned commuters alerted the local power department, which promptly switched off the power supply to prevent any accidents.
Police arrived and tried to persuade Mohan to come down, but he initially refused. Eventually, as officials began to climb the tower to rescue him, Mohan descended on his own and was detained.
The police registered a case under Section 206(2) of the Indian Penal Code (petty offense) and released Mohan to his family after providing counseling.
