Hyderabad: Parents are calling for a three-day school holiday due to relentless rainfall, which has led to widespread flooding and disruption.
Concerns over compromised transportation routes and health hazards have prompted parents to request the holiday for student safety. The Telangana government has issued a health advisory and prepared public health facilities with necessary provisions to address potential viral infections and other rain-related health issues.
The city is under a yellow alert, with the India Meteorological Department predicting continued rainfall and thunderstorms. With temperatures ranging between 23 and 28 degrees Celsius, Hyderabad recorded 19 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
