Hyderabad: The parents of Sumedha Kapuria (12-y), who lost her life after falling into an open drain in Malkajgiri area las week after the continuous rains in the city, filed a complaint against KT Rama Rao (Minister for Urban Development), GHMC Mayor, Zonal Commissioner, local municipal corporator and others, highlighting that it was due to GHMC’s negligence and incompetence that their 12 year daughter died.
Dasoju Sravan (AICC spokesperson) guided Sumedha’s parents Abhijit and Sukanya and was standing by their side, as the grieving parents filed the complaint at Neredmet police station against all responsible from GHMC.
“We have been residing here for more than two years and several a time local resident had complained about open drains and nalas earlier. Residents requested to Municipal Affairs Minister KTR, GHMC Mayor, local corporator to solve the issue of open nalas. If those in responsible had acted earlier, our daughter would have been saved today. We feel that no parent should suffer like us in the future. No child should again face the same fate. Therefore, demanding justice for Sumedha, we have filed a complaint against the Municipal Affairs Minister and others who are decision-makers,” said Sukanya Kapuria, after filing the complaint at Neredmet police station.
Neredmet police said, A case is already registered U/s 174 CrPC in Sumedha’s issue and is under investigation. If any local GHMC officer’s negligence is found, then they will be booked.
