Hyderabad: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday declared that Telangana government will soon officially rename the Necklace Road as PV Gnana Marg as a tribute to former late Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao.
CM K Chandrasekhar Rao also said that state government will soon pass a resolution in the next Assembly session demanding country’s highest civilian honor to PV Narasimha Rao.
The state government also decided to build a memorial and statues of the PV Narasimha Rao in Necklace road and Beautiful parks should be built all along the Necklace road path.
The suggested PV memorial in Hyderabad will be built on international norms, demonstrate the versatility and multi-faceted personality of Narasimha Rao in various areas throughout his life.
The government will soon identify necessary land for the memorial and take up construction. Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud was instructed to visit Narasimha Rao’s birthplace Laknepalli and Vangara where he spent his childhood and prepare an action plan to develop them as tourist destinations.
PV Narasimha Rao served as the ninth Prime Minister for India between 1991 and 1996. He hailed from Laknepally village in Narsampet Mandal of Warangal district of Telangana and was born on June 28, 1921. He died on December 24, 2004.
