Hyderabad: N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), expressed confidence that the TDP will eventually come to power in Telangana. During a recent meeting with TDP leaders in Hyderabad, Naidu outlined plans for a membership drive in Telangana within the next 15 days. He emphasized restructuring the party at the grassroots level to boost support among youth and backward classes. Naidu also announced that existing committees in Telangana would be dissolved and new ones formed post-membership drive. He committed to visiting Telangana bi-weekly to oversee these efforts. Although the TDP did not contest in the last Assembly elections in Telangana, they are now focusing on local body elections.

Naidu announced plans to restructure the party, focusing on youth and educated individuals to build strong leadership for the next 30 years. He indicated that different political strategies would be employed for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with special efforts to strengthen TDP in Telangana. Reflecting on the recent success in Andhra Pradesh’s Assembly elections, Naidu credited the victory to a significant reorganization that emphasized young, educated, and intellectual candidates. He pledged to maintain the same energy and approach seen in 1995 for the 2024 elections and reminded people of the positive initiatives like Shramadanam and Janmabhoomi from the past.
