Mild Tension During Milad-un-Nabi Procession in Dhoolpet, 5 Injured

Hyderabad: Mild tension erupted in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad, on Thursday during a Milad-un-Nabi procession. The incident occurred when a group of bikers in the procession encountered a clash with local residents near the Santoshi Mata Temple at Jhansi Chauraha Road. The conflict escalated into a scuffle, resulting in five people, including two participants from the procession, being injured.

Videos circulating on social media captured stone-pelting from both sides, with individuals throwing stones at the procession and at nearby houses. The situation raised concerns over the Hyderabad police’s decision to allow the procession through Jummerat Bazaar, a known communally sensitive area, without sufficient security. Locals blamed the bikers for causing disruptions by stopping on the road, while the procession participants claimed they were attacked first.

Senior police officials responded quickly, deploying additional forces to control the situation and prevent further violence. The injured were taken to the hospital for treatment. Authorities remain on high alert to maintain peace in the area.
