Hyderabad: Lavodi Balu Chowhan, Inspector, CCS Malkajgiri  suspended by Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat on Monday, and ordered a departmental enquiry against him.

The action was initiated after a criminal case was registered against him at Saroornagar police station following a complaint lodged by his second wife. The woman last year lodged a complaint stating that Balu Chowhan had threatened her with dire consequences when she confronted him with information of him being already married.

Inspector, Balu Chowhan suppressed the matter of his second marriage to the department. He rendered himself in a criminal case and thereby violated conduct rules – 1964. On establishment of his paternity in DNA test he had been placed under suspension and a departmental enquiry ordered by the Commissioner of Police,” stated a press release from Rachakonda police.

Meanwhile, Mirchowk Station House Officer Anand Kishore was ask to report the headquarters immediately on administrative grounds by Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar on Monday.
