Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, MAUD, IT Minister made an appeal to BCCI and IPL to include Hyderabad as one of the venues for upcoming IPL season.
According to media report, the BCCI confirmed that the IPL 2021 will be held across 5 venues in Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bangalore, and Delhi. In fact, a report also stated that Mumbai has not been confirmed as an IPL venue as the Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray had not yet given the nod in Mumbai due to coronavirus pandemic.
BCCI is until now to formally announce the IPL schedule for year 2021, and a media report from Mumbai saying that Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Delhi were shortlisted as venues of IPL.
KT Rama Rao came after a media report saying, KTR stated that the Covid 19 measures taken by the Telangana government were effective and it reflected in the low number of cases in the Hyderabad city. He also assured that the Government would provide its full support for the conduct of the IPL in Hyderabad.
