KTR behind Samantha Prabhu-Naga Chaitanya’s Divorce – Konda Surekha, KTR Sends Defamation Notice

Hyderabad: A recent political controversy has emerged in Telangana after Forest Minister Konda Surekha made explosive claims linking KT Rama Rao (KTR), a prominent leader from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), to the divorce of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. Konda Surekha alleged that KTR was involved in blackmailing actresses in the film industry and suggested that this may have contributed to the actors’ separation. The minister also accused KTR of entangling actresses in drugs, further fueling the political row.

These allegations were quickly condemned by Naga Chaitanya’s father, actor Nagarjuna, who called the remarks “irrelevant and false,” urging the minister to respect the privacy of the individuals involved and refrain from using personal matters for political attacks. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, through social media, also responded, expressing frustration and asking politicians to keep her name out of political controversies.

As the situation escalates, BRS leaders, including Harish Rao, have demanded a public apology from Konda Surekha for her statements. Meanwhile, KTR himself has not yet responded to the allegations.

This controversy has intensified political tensions in Telangana, with Konda Surekha’s comments being viewed by many as part of an ongoing rivalry within the political landscape

 Legal Notice to Minister

A legal notice was issued to Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha by Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR), a Member of the Telangana State Legislative Assembly. The notice is based on defamatory comments made by Konda Surekha against KTR. The claims, made in public, accuse KTR of involvement in various wrongdoings, which KTR contends are false, malicious, and aimed at damaging his reputation.

The notice, sent by KTR’s legal team, demands that Konda Surekha:

  1. Withdraw her statements made on 02.10.2024.
  2. Issue an unconditional public apology for the defamatory remarks.
  3. Cease any further defamatory actions, directly or indirectly, against KTR.

Failure to comply with these demands within 24 hours will result in legal action, both civil and criminal, as per the notice. KTR highlights that these allegations have caused him significant personal and professional harm, stating that they are part of a deliberate campaign to mislead the public for political gain.
