Inter Student Died from Electrocution in Residential College in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An inter-first-year student at Narayana Residential Junior College in Hayathnagar died from electrocution on June 20. The student’s parents allege negligence by the college authorities. The student, Girish Kumar, was reportedly unhappy at the college and attempted to return home early on Thursday.

Upon learning that Girish was missing, his parents rushed to the college and demanded to see the CCTV footage, which the authorities initially denied, claiming the cameras were dysfunctional. Eventually, with police intervention, footage revealed Girish was last seen inside the hostel at 1:52 am on June 20.

The family received a call from the police an hour after informing them, stating that Girish had been found and electrocuted. They were directed to Sunrise Hospital, where Girish was declared dead on arrival. The circumstances of how he left the hostel, supposedly under tight security, remain unclear. The grieving family seeks justice and answers regarding the security lapses and the events leading to their son’s death.
