Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Management and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRA) has filed a complaint against several officials for issuing construction permits within lakes’ Full Tank Levels (FTL) and buffer zones. HYDRA Commissioner AV Ranganath submitted the complaint to Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty. The investigation targets officials from the Revenue Department, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA). The probe was prompted by illegal constructions in Nizampet and Chandanagar, specifically around Erra Kunta Lake, where five officials are allegedly involved in granting permits for illegal construction within the buffer zone. They now face criminal charges.
