HYDRA’s Crackdown: 166 Illegal Structures Demolished, 44 Acres of Land Reclaimed from Congress, AIMIM, and BRS Leaders in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRA) reported the demolition of 166 illegal structures from June 27 to August 24, reclaiming 43.94 acres of encroached land. HYDRA Commissioner AV Ranganath submitted a detailed report to the government, highlighting the agency’s actions against unauthorized structures, many linked to high-profile individuals, including politicians, celebrities, and business leaders.

Key demolitions include:

  1. Nandagiri Hills (Jubilee Hills): 0.18 acres reclaimed, linked to MLA Danam Nagender.
  2. Rajendranagar: 12 acres reclaimed, involving buildings linked to Bahadurpura MLA Mohammad Mubeen and MIM MLC Miraj Rehmat Beg.
  3. Gandipet FTL (Khanapur & Chilukuru): 14.8 acres recovered, affecting structures owned by Congress leader Pallam Raju’s brother, Kaveri Seeds owner GV Bhaskar Rao, and others.
  4. Madhapur (Tummidikunta Lake): 4.9 acres reclaimed, including demolitions linked to actor Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N Convention.
  5. Chintal Pond: 8.5 acres recovered from structures linked to BRS leader Ratnakaram Sai Raju.

HYDRAA’s operations, which started on June 27, focused on reclaiming public lands and protecting water bodies in Hyderabad. These actions received public support, including a “Support Walk” organized by the Gandipet Welfare Society to raise awareness about preserving local lakes.
