Hyderabad City will Soon have Dedicated Cycling Tracks

The total of more than 400-kilometer special cycle tracks network running throughout the city, covering the IT corridors, and extending into the outskirts. To be taken up in a phased approach, the areas to be covered include Cyberabad, Hitec City, Mehdipatnam, Kukatpally, Dilsukhnagar, Charminar, Financial district, Hyderabad Knowledge Centre and Kokapet.

Hyderabad: To support and promote the cycling culture, a cycling tracks network will soon be cut across the Hyderabad city and the suburbs. Not just the cycle tracks but other related things such as road signage, road marking, temporary barricading and plug play posts will mark the entire cycling tracks.

To start first in Khairtabad zone, seven cycling tracks covers 46 kilometers are to be built with tracks stretching to 10 kilometers initially.

In coordination with the city traffic police, cycle network plans are being drawn up for cycle tracks and an action plan in Khairtabad central zone. The available spaces at HMRL stations, TSRTC terminals/depots, MMTS stations are proposed for establishing Public Bicycle Sharing (PBS) ports to extend first and last mile connectivity.
