Hyderabad to Get 50 Smart Multilevel Parking, First at KBR Park

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) plans to establish a smart, mechanized multi-level parking facility near KBR Park in Jubilee Hills to address the area’s parking space shortage. The facility, set to occupy a 405-square-meter area at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore, will offer designated parking for both cars and motorcycles, with 20% of the 72 Equivalent Car Spaces (ECS) allocated for two-wheelers. It will be operational from 5 am to 11 pm.

This project, to be executed under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, involves a 10-year handover period, including construction time. The GHMC has invited proposals for this development. Safety measures will include the installation of CCTV cameras and sufficient lighting. The facility will minimize human intervention, with ticketing done via machines and smart card transactions. Additionally, a mobile app will be developed to assist users in navigating the facility, booking parking spaces in advance, and other services.

Similar multi-level parking projects are planned across Hyderabad, with at least 50 more such facilities expected. One notable project is a similar multi-level parking facility near the Nampally metro station, which will include ten parking floors and five commercial floors, accommodating 250 cars and 200 two-wheelers, alongside commercial amenities like shops and a movie theater.
