Hyderabad Police warns Against Fake, Unverified Posts, Videos on Social Media

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar have warned citizens against sharing fake and or unrelated posts and videos on social media.

Hyderabad Police warning came after videos of people who violates curfew were beaten by police were viral on social media.

According to police, there were no such incidents, since the imposition of night curfew in the state after government orders from last Tuesday, and the fake news could have a negative effect in view of the existing situation and create panic and confusion amongst citizens,

Hyderabad police said, that persons spreading fake news about Covid-19 may booked in criminal cases under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and other related sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Hyderabad police commissioner, Anjani Kumar said. The Cyberabad and Rachakonda police also have warned mischief mongers against spreading rumors and fake news.
