Hyderabad Police Imposes Section 144, Bans Crackers, Close Liquor Shops on 4th June for Vote Counting

Hyderabad: On the day of the Lok Sabha election results, the Hyderabad police have implemented stringent restrictions to maintain public order in the twin cities. These include:

  1. Assembly Restrictions: No gatherings of five or more people and no processions within 200 meters of the counting center.
  2. Weapon Prohibition: No carrying sticks, flags, lathis, firearms, or any potential weapons within a one-kilometer radius of the counting center.
  3. Sound Restrictions: No use of microphones, public address systems, music, singing, speeches, or broadcasting through speakers.
  4. Temporary Structures: Erecting shamianas, pandals, or similar structures in public areas is prohibited.
  5. Firecrackers Ban: Bursting or throwing firecrackers on public roads and places is banned.

These restrictions are effective from 6 am on June 4 to 6 am on June 5, with violators facing prosecution.

Additionally, all liquor shops and establishments serving alcohol in Hyderabad and Secunderabad will be closed during the same period to ensure peace during vote counting for the 2024 General Elections and the Secunderabad Cantonment AC Bye-Election.
