Hyderabad Airport Plans for Second Terminal to Meet Growing Demand

Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is planning a second terminal and an additional runway to handle increasing passenger traffic, which reached 3 crore this year and is expected to hit 4.5 crore by 2030, with a long-term goal of 10 crore. Flight movements, currently at 43 per hour, are projected to rise to 55 in the next 3–4 years. Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated an AI-enabled Airport Predictive Operation Centre (APOC) to streamline operations. SGK Kishore of GMR Airports announced plans to expand this “digital twin” technology to other airports in phases, starting with Delhi.
