Houthi Attack on Abha Airport, Sets Passenger Plane on Fire

Dubai: Arab coalition said on today that it had controlled a fire in a civilian plane at Abha airport after a Houthi attack and said that the attempt to target airport and passenger plane is a war crime.

Earlier today TV in Saudi arabia reported that the coalition forces had intercepted and destroyed two armed drones launched by the Houthi group.

Al-Malki said in a statement that the attack had targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure.

The attack comes just days after President Joe Biden declassified the Houthis as a terrorist organization. Former President Donald Trump designated the Houthis a terrorist organization shortly before the end of his term.

It also follows a warning from the State Department that the Houthis must stop attacks on civilian targets.

The Houthis hold northern Yemen, from where they have often launched missiles and drones toward Saudi cities.
