Hyderabad: Avanthi Reddy, widow of Hemanth who was killed by his in-laws, met Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar along with her in-laws. Sources said the family urged Police commissioner Sajjanar to ensure strict punishment to Hemanth’s killers.
VC Sajjanar, Cyberabad Police Commissioner on Wednesday assured round-the-clock police security to the family of Hemanth Kumar, who was killed what is being an instance of honour killing.
Avanthi, who is now living with her in-laws, told the Commissioner that after her husband’s murder, there was a life threat to her and Hemanth’s family and requested police protection.
Sajjanar told the family that the police had already written to the government for setting up a fast track court for speedy trial of the case.
Meanwhile, the Gachibowli police got custody of Yugender Reddy, Avanthi’s maternal uncle and her father Laxma Reddy for further questioning. They were being interrogated from Wednesday afternoon by the concerned police officials in Gachibowli.
Police officials said the suspects would be questioned for the next five days on various angles of the kidnap and murder case. And are also planning for a ‘scene reconstruction’ with the suspects by taking them to all the places where they took the couple and Hemanth to probe the sequence of the events.
Avanthi and Hemanth were in love for more than four years and They got married against the wish of Avanthi’s parents in June.
The Cyberabad Police have already arrested 14 persons, including Avanthi’s parents, for the murder.
