Heavy Rainfall – Yellow Alert Issued by IMD in Telangana from 12-15 July

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Telangana, forecasting significant rainfall and advising residents to stay vigilant.

Hyderabad: The state is preparing for a wet spell with moderate to heavy rainfall expected from July 12 to 15. Despite widespread rainfall across Telangana, Hyderabad has seen 174.6 mm of rainfall, just above the normal range of 154 mm. The IMD predicts moderate rainfall in Hyderabad on July 14. Weather experts anticipate that the monsoon will strengthen soon after this period, bringing back-to-back low-pressure area (LPA) showers to the region.

Rainfall Forecast (July 12-15):

  • Friday: Heavy rain in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy.
  • Saturday: Continued heavy rain in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
  • Sunday: Expanded heavy rain to Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.
  • Monday: Final day with heavy rain in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy.
