Girls Outshines Boys in SSC 2020 Results in Telangana States

Hyderabad: A total of 13,014 students in Hyderabad have obtained a wonderful 10/10 Grade Point Average (GPA) in the SSC Public Examination results.

According to the details provided by the Hyderabad District Educational Office on Tuesday, as many as 8,275 girls and 4,739 boys have got a 10/10 GPA in the results. Of the students who got 10 GPA, 402 were in aided schools, 411 in government schools, 84 in minority residential schools, 12,054 in private schools, 27 in Telangana State residential schools, and 36 in Social Welfare Residential Schools.

As the State government decided to promote students without conducting SSC Public Examinations in view of the CoronaVirus pandemic, the Directorate of Government Examinations has passed all SSC students in accordance with the principle of the internal assessment marks.

A total of 70,699 students including 36,031 girls and 34,668 boys have cleared the examinations in Hyderabad converting the pass percentage to 99.92.

Earlier in 2019, Girls results were better than the boys in the Telangana Secondary School Certificate (SSC) the passing percentage of students was 92.43 percent this year. While the passing percentage of boys is 91.18 percent, the girls were 93.68 percent which is 2.5 percent more than boys. About 5,52,280 students applied for SSC examination, 5,46,728 attended and 5,06,200 students have passed the exam. There were 40,826 private students and the passing percentage was 61.40 percent.

SSC students promoted in 2020: Amid growing concerns over the rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the state following the easing of CoronaVirus lockdown, the Telangana government had promoted all the SSC students to the next class without conducting any examinations.

The Telangana Secondary board of examination had already conducted three exams in two subjects out of the eleven exams in six subjects.

The Telangana High Court had earlier directed the government to postpone the SSC exams this academic year because of the extended coronavirus lockdown across the country. In view of the risks involved in conducting exams, the state has finally decided not to conduct the SSC exams but instead promote students based on their grades in the previous exams. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao chaired a high-level meeting today to decide on the SSC exams. KCR reviewed the situation before arriving at this decision.
