Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl attempted suicide in her room at the Sri Chaitanya School hostel, according to Chaitanyapuri police on Sunday. The incident occurred around 3 pm on Saturday when the hostel warden discovered her and rushed her to a nearby hospital. Her condition is reported to be critical.
Police were not immediately informed and learned about the attempt later. It is suspected that academic performance issues contributed to her distress. The girl’s parents have alleged that she was under significant administrative pressure.
A purported suicide note was reportedly recovered from her room and circulated on social media. In the note, the student allegedly apologizes to her parents and urges her siblings to excel in their studies.
