Hyderabad: Senior All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader and former MLA Virasat Rasool Khan passed away on Tuesday due to health issues.
Khan had a nearly four-decade-long association with the AIMIM party. He was first elected as an MLA from the Charminar constituency in 1989 and later from the Nampally Assembly constituency in 2009.
He is survived by his wife and one son. The Namaz-e-Janaza for Virasat Rasool Khan will be held at Masjid Alamgeer in Shantinagar after Maghrib prayers.
