In early hours at around 1:30 AM today, five persons travelling in a car towards Mulugu, met with an accident. A sand lorry coming from the other direction and the car hit each other and five people travelling in the car died at the scene.
Warangal: Five youth died after a car crash took place in the early hours of Wednesday at Warangal Rural under the Damera police station limits.
In early hours at around 1:30 AM today, five persons travelling in a car towards Mulugu, met with an accident. A sand lorry coming from the other direction and the car hit each other and five people travelling in the car died at the scene.
The accident seemed to have happened while overtaking another vehicle. The lorry was coming from other direction.
The deceased were identified as Mekala Praveen, Mekala Rakesh, Medi Pavan, Rohit and Rahim aged between 22 and 26 years. All of them belonged to Warangal.
According to sources, they had celebrated the birthday of Medi Pavan on Tuesday and drank liquor. One of them who was driving the vehicle, overtook another car and hit the lorry coming in the opposite direction.
Damera police reached the spot and took out the bodies from the crushed car and shifted them to MGM Hospital for postmortem examination.
A case has been registered, further investigation underway, Bhaskar Reddy, Sub Inspector, Damera Police Station said.
