England Team Slams Taslima Nasreen for “Disgusting” Tweet on Moeen Ali

England fast bowler Jofra Archer and Sam Billings hits back at controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen on Tuesday for using objectionable language in a tweet targeted at England’s cricketer Moeen Ali.

Earlier Nasreen tweeted that, “If Moeen Ali were not stuck with cricket, he would have gone to Syria to join ISIS,”

That Nasreen has now deleted, drawing flak from scores of cricket lovers on social media.

England fast bowler Jofra Archer, batsman Sam Billings and Saqib Mahmood were among those who tore into the author’s offensive post, and have come to Moeen Ali’s defense and condemned her and also tweeted urging his followed to report Taslima’s account.

Jofra Archer responded with the tweet: “Are you okay? I don’t think you’re okay,” while quoting Nasreen’s tweet.

He also blasted Nasreen’s attempt at damage control with her second tweet.

“Sarcastic? No one is laughing, not even yourself, the least you can do is delete the tweet,” Archer wrote.

Sam Billings and Saqib Mahmood described Nasreen’s comments as “disgusting”.

Moeen Ali, who is currently in India to play IPL 2021 representing Royal Challengers Bangalore.
