Hyderabad: Prashanth Vaindam, 31, a software engineer from Hyderabad, being escorted to Hyderabad city by Telangana officials.
Prashanth Vaindam, who spent four years in a Pakistan jail on charges of illegally crossing over to Pakistan, was handed over to the BSF by the Pakistan Rangers at the Attari-Wagah border on Monday.
According to officials, Prashanth was missing since April 2019 when was working in Hyderabad. And after more than 2 years his family members came to know from TV channels that he was arrested in Pakistan.
The family had then met Telangana police officials and requested help for his release.
According to reports that Prashanth told that immigration authority that he was in love with a girl whom he met on social media and was depressed when she migrated to Switzerland, and reach her in Switzerland he opted land route to Switzerland from India via Pakistan, Iran, Turkey to enter Europe without a valid visa, and he was caught by Pakistan authorities at Bahawalpur (in Pakistan).
