Hyderabad: Double Decker Buses to Return in City after 20 Years

Hyderabad: Double decker buses, once a tourist attraction in Hyderabad, are set to comeback on the roads of Hyderabad.

First introduced during the reign of the last Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan in the 1940s by the Nizam’s Transport Services, double decker buses were taken off the road in the 1990s by APSRTC.

Now, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) inviting for tenders for providing 25 double decker buses for its Hyderabad operations.

Showing keen interest in the Double decker busses project, the TSRTC has also convened a pre-bidding meeting with interested parties for discussion on all the aspects of the project.

The tender notice said: “The bidder shall design, manufacture, test, supply and commission the above buses. The tenderer shall be well established and must have manufacturing and supply facilities of fully built buses in India”.
