CM KCR to Decide on Re-Lockdown of Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In the wake of increasing CoronaVirus cases in Hyderabad, CM K Chandrasekhar Rao will finalize a plan to contain the spread of the CoronaVirus in the next three-four days. He will adopt a decision on various proposals including re-lockdown for a few days in the Hyderabad area.

The Chief Minister who chaired a high-level meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on Sunday said though more Coronavirus cases were being reported, there was no need to panic as the State government made all the necessary arrangements to provide proper medical care to all. He assessed the current condition of COVID-19 outbreak and necessary measures being taken by the authorities including precautionary measures, treatment to patients, and strategies for the future. TS Health Minister E. Rajender briefed the Chief Minister about the existing situation.

 

On Saturday, 27 June Telangana registered 1,087 fresh cases of coronavirus. Of these, 888 from the GHMC area.

Till Saturday 27 June, Telangana registered 13,436 total cases. Of these, 9,995 were from Hyderabad, which accounts for 74 percent of all cases in the state.

With almost 13,000 CoronaVirus cases, Telangana is the 8th worst-hit state across India.

Chennai Re-Lockdown: 

From 19 to 30 June, A 12-day “complete” lockdown already started in Chennai and parts of three adjoining districts of Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur, and Chengalpattu, with the police using drones for surveillance and intensifying patrols to check violations.

The state government announced the lockdown on June 15 amid a rise in coronavirus cases.

Till Saturday 27 June, Tamil Nadu registered 78,335 total cases. Of these, 51,699 were from Chennai, which accounts for 66 percent of all cases in the state.

With almost 51,000 CoronaVirus cases, Chennai is the third worst-hit city in the country after Mumbai and the city-state of Delhi.

Bengaluru Re-Lockdown: 

Full lockdown will be enforced every Sunday in Karnataka from July 5, the state government has decided after a meeting called by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to discuss the coronavirus situation.

Monday onwards, night curfew will start from 8 pm from the earlier 9 pm, but the end time of 5 am will remain, officials said.

All government offices will have a five-day week with Saturday as a holiday.

Till Saturday 27 June, Karnataka registered 11,923 total cases. Of these, 2,531 were from Bengaluru Urban, which accounts for 21 percent of all cases in the state.

With almost 12,000 CoronaVirus cases, Karnataka is the 12th worst-hit state in the country.
