Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has assured leaders of the Sikh community that the state government will consider banning the release of Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film, “Emergency.” This assurance came after a delegation from the Telangana Sikh Society, led by former IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon, met with the Chief Minister to express their concerns.
The delegation submitted a formal representation highlighting their worries about the film’s portrayal of the Sikh community. They argued that certain aspects of the film could potentially misrepresent and harm the sentiments of the Sikh community. In response, CM Revanth Reddy assured them that the government would carefully review the matter and consider taking appropriate action regarding the film’s release in the state.
