Hyderabad: The Central government of India has decided to deploy nine teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to assist in relief operations in flood-hit Telangana. The decision was made on Sunday by Union Home Minister Amit Shah after being briefed by his junior minister, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, about the situation in the state.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar reported that heavy rains have caused severe flooding, especially in the Khammam district. A total of 110 villages in Khammam are submerged in floodwaters. Additionally, several people are stranded in critical locations: nine individuals are stuck on Prakashnagar hilltop, 68 people are trapped on Ajmira Tanda hill, and 42 others are on the rooftops of buildings.
To ensure effective relief and rehabilitation efforts, Bandi Sanjay Kumar has coordinated with NDRF officials and urged them to work closely with local authorities in Telangana to address the crisis.
