Israel-Palestinian Cease-fire Begins, Celebrations in Gaza, Palestine, ‘Hands-on the Trigger’: Hamas

Gaza City: A cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, who controls the Gaza Strip, came into force early Friday after 11 days of deadly fighting between Israel and Palestine.

US President Joe Biden welcomed the Egyptian-mediatedCrease-fire truce between Israel and Hamas in Palestine began on Friday.

Celebrations were heard on Gaza streets in the minutes after the truce began as cars honked their horns around East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah at dawn and some guns were fired in the air, Mosque loud-speakers feted “the victory of the resistance achieved over the Occupation (Israel), and also in the occupied West Bank, joyful crowds took to the streets.

Khalil Al-Hayya, a known Hamas leader, in front of a crowd of thousands of Palestinians who had gathered in the streets to celebrate said “This is the euphoria of victory,”

However, Hamas warned it still had its “Hands-on the Trigger” and demanded Israel end the violence in Jerusalem and address the damages in Gaza Strip after the worst fighting in years.

Both Israel and Palestine sides said they stood ready to retaliate for any truce violations by the other. Egypt who mediated the deal said it would send two delegations to monitor the ceasefire.
