Exit polls do not always get it right.
Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is projected to make significant gains in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, with the Civil Polls Analysis Committee (C-PAC) predicting that the party will secure 11 seats. This prediction, released on Saturday evening, also suggests BRS victories in the Secunderabad Cantonment and the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates Constituency by-polls.
C-PAC’s credibility stems from its accurate predictions during the previous year’s Assembly elections, where it closely estimated the seat counts and vote shares for BRS and Congress. In the current forecast, BRS is expected to capture 44.95% of the vote share, leading to 11 seats. The BJP is predicted to win two seats with a 26.38% vote share, while Congress is expected to win only one seat in Nalgonda. The AIMIM is also predicted to secure one seat in Hyderabad.
The predictions highlight close contests in the Nizamabad constituency between BRS and BJP, and in the Bhongir constituency between BRS and Congress. In the Secunderabad Cantonment by-poll, BRS is anticipated to win with a 50.49% vote share, outpacing Congress (37.29%) and BJP (11.63%). In the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates Constituency by-poll, BRS is expected to secure 41.17% of the vote, followed by Congress with 33.81% and BJP with 13.26%. Others and NOTA are predicted to gather 8.52% and 3.24% of the vote, respectively.
