Sidhi, MP, 16 FEB: A buss with 60 passengerson boardfell off a bridge into a canal in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh at around 7:30 AM today.
32 people have lost their lives many are feared drowned, only 7 people have been rescued so far.
A team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with other officials concerned, began the rescue operations in the morning, the Chief Minister said. Doctors and ambulances were also rushed to the site.
PM Modi has approved ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to the bus accident in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh. Rs. 50,000 would be given to those seriously injured.
The Madhya Pradesh state government cancelled a key event in view of the accident, which was to be virtually attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
