BRS MLAs Protest CM’s Remarks; KTR, BRS MLAs Removed form Assembly, Detained

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) staged a protest in the Telangana Assembly on August 1 against CM Revanth Reddy’s remarks about BRS women MLAs P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Sunita Laxman Reddy. BRS workers demanded an apology from the CM, with statewide protests and effigies burned. BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) and other BRS MLAs were detained after protesting.

BRS members, wearing black badges and sarees as a mark of protest, caused chaos in the Assembly, demanding an apology from the CM. They protested for nearly three hours and were later removed by marshals. Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu introduced the Young India Skills University bill amidst the protests. AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and CPI MLA K Sambasiva Rao sympathized with the BRS members, while BJP floor leader A Maheswar Reddy criticized the disruption. The BRS accused Congress and BJP of having an unholy nexus.
