Bomb Threat, Over 60 Schools in Delhi Sent Students Home, Exams Stoped Midway, Nothing Found In Searches- Police

New Delhi: Over 60 schools in Delhi and Noida have been evacuated following bomb threats received via email. Police officials are currently conducting thorough search operations at the sites. So far, the search teams have not discovered anything suspicious.

Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa assured the public, stating, “We are taking all necessary precautions at the schools that have received bomb threats. I urge parents not to panic, as nothing suspicious has been found.”

Despite efforts by the Delhi Police, the IP address of the threatening email sender remains untraceable. Bomb squad teams are actively engaged in search operations at the affected schools. Police authorities denounced the threats as mischief, emphasizing that the cyber cell unit is endeavoring to track down the email sender and IP address.

Among the initial schools to receive the threats were Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar (East Delhi), and Delhi Public School in Dwarka. Subsequently, nearly 60 other schools reported receiving similar emails, alleging the presence of explosives on their premises.

One of the affected schools, Mother Mary, had to halt an ongoing exam midway due to the search operations. The school promptly declared an emergency and instructed everyone to evacuate the premises immediately. In a communication to parents, Delhi Public School informed them of the threat and announced the immediate dismissal of students as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety.
