Nizamabad: The police on Tuesday arrested Bodhan Municipality councillor K Radha Krishna, a follower of Bodhan MLA Sudharshan Reddy of the Congress, on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl in Bodhan town. He was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
On Monday evening, the victim was traveling in an autorickshaw to Bodhan Town to get medicines for her mother. Radha Krishna saw the girl alone, offered her a ride in his car, and then took her to an isolated place where he allegedly sexually assaulted her. He later dropped her back in her colony.
The girl informed her parents about the incident, who lodged a complaint with the Bodhan Rural police station. Radha Krishna reportedly attempted to settle the issue with money, but the girl’s parents refused. The police arrested him on Tuesday morning, and he was remanded in judicial custody.
This is the second POCSO case against Radha Krishna. In June 2023, he and his brother Ravi were arrested under the POCSO Act after Ravi was accused of raping a minor, with Radha Krishna allegedly trying to shield him. Following that incident, he was suspended from the BRS and became close to the Congress MLA.
