New Delhi: Farmers across India protesting the newly passed farm laws have called for a peaceful countrywide shutdown, (Bharat Bandh), on Tuesday, December 8.

With increasing support from most of the trade unions and all opposition political parties for tomorrow’s “Bharat Bandh” call.

The call for a “peaceful” Bharat Bandh on Tuesday, December 8, a day ahead of the sixth round of talks between protesting farmers and the government, is meant to intensify pressure at the government to abolish the three controversial agriculture reform laws.

Rakesh Tikait, Bharatiya Kisan Union Spokesperson said, “The protest is to show that we don’t support some of the policies of the government.”
