Aramghar to Zoo Park Flyover to Be Completed by Nov 30, Says GHMC Commissioner

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner, Ilambharti, has instructed officials to expedite the construction of the Aramghar to Zoo Park flyover in Hyderabad and complete the main structure by November 30, 2024.

 

Construction Progress:

  1. The flyover spans 4.04 km and is a bi-directional six-lane structure, making it the second-longest flyover in Hyderabad.
  2. It aims to ease traffic congestion at five major junctions: Aramghar, Shastripuram, Kalapathar, Darul Uloom, Shivrampally, and Hassannagar.

Challenges Identified:

  1. Chief Engineer Devanand highlighted the need to acquire 17 properties for constructing service roads under the flyover.
  2. Of these, 5 private properties require immediate acquisition to begin service road work.

Action Steps:

  1. Zonal town planning authorities have been directed to send compensation proposals promptly for property acquisition.
  2. GHMC Commissioner assured the release of required funds for completing these acquisitions.
  3. Zonal Commissioner Venkanna has been tasked to finish the necessary paperwork within two days.

Officials Involved:

  1. The site inspection was attended by GHMC Commissioner Ilambharti, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, HMWS&SB Executive Director D Mayank Mittal, and other senior officials.

Expected Benefits:

  1. The flyover will reduce bottlenecks and streamline traffic flow along the Aramghar-Bahadurpura corridor, benefiting commuters traveling to the Nehru Zoo Park.

This project is part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and ease traffic congestion in Hyderabad, especially in its older parts.
