Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to campaign today for the BJP MP candidate in Hyderabad’s Old City. Joining him in the campaign will be Telangana BJP president G. Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman, and other party members.
The campaign will kick off with a roadshow starting at 4:30 pm from Mahankali Temple, Laldarwaza, to Sudha Talkies, Shalibanda, Hyderabad. This marks the first time a senior BJP leader is participating in an election rally in the Old City.
Earlier, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur attended the nomination rally of Madhavi Latha, urging people to support the BJP candidate. However, it remains uncertain whether Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh will be present at today’s roadshow, as he was absent during Madhavi Latha’s nomination rally.
Madhavi Latha, the Hyderabad BJP MP candidate, took aim at AIMIM and Congress, accusing them of winning elections through “spreading hate and terrorizing people.” Latha also criticized Owaisi, alleging a lack of developmental initiatives in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency over the past 40 years.
Voting for all 17 seats, including the Hyderabad Parliamentary seat in Telangana, is scheduled for May 13 in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
