YS Sharmila, Jagan Reddy’s Sister to form Political Party in Telangana
Hyderabad: YS Sharmila, the daughter of former AP CM late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and sister of present AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is expected a political entry into Telangana ahead of of the 2023 state Assembly polls.
Sharmila told media in a press meet, “I want to understand the ground realities and to take their suggestions and the information they have…I called people from Nalgonda district (in Telangana). This is just a connection (with them). The meeting will be held with people from every district,”
According to sources, Sharmila will be conducting a meeting with the supporters of her late father at her home in Lotus Pond in Hyderabad on Tuesday to discuss the subject.
The Assembly polls for 119 seats in Telangana state are scheduled to take place in 2023.
Earlier to bifurcation in 2014 of Telangana State, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were a single unit, also called Andhra Pradesh, Her later father YS Rajasekhara Reddy was a Congress CM of the state between from 2004 to 2009 when he died in a helicopter crash shortly after winning a second term as Chief Minister.
AP CM, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (son of YSR) , split from the Congress to form a new po;itical party the YSR Congress which went on to win the 2019 AP assembly.
