Former AP Minister, Husband Arrested for Kidnapping a Hyderabad Ex, Hockey Player

Hyderabad: Former AP Minister Mrs. Bhuma Akhila Priya and her husband were arrested by the Hyderabad Police here on Wednesday for her alleged participation in the kidnapping of former hockey player Praveen Rao and two of his brothers on Tuesday night.

According to police, eight persons including the AP’s Ex. minister and her husband were arrested last night itself in connection with the incident.

In a late Tuesday, a former hockey player Praveen Rao and two of his relatives were kidnapped from Bowenpally, reportedly in connection with a land issue.

The three kidnapped brothers were later released by kidnappers at Kokapet in Narsingi in Cyberabad early on Wednesday.

Anjani Kumar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner said, on Tuesday morning around 10-15 persons had reached Rao’s house in Bowenpally posing as officials of the Income Tax department.
