Thiruvananthapuram: A 21-year-old college student Arya Rajendran, who successfully contested the recent muncipal polls in Kerala, has been elected as next Mayor of state capital Thiruvananthapuram.

Ms Arya Rajendran, a BSc Maths second year student at the All Saints college, has been elected as the new Mayor of Thiruvanathapuram Corporation, making her the youngest Mayor in the state.

Arya Rajendran (LDF) had won from the Mudavanmughal ward of the city Municipal corporation defeating the rival Congress candidate.
