Hyderabad: A salesman from a Secunderabad jewelry store has been identified as the mastermind behind the Clock Tower gold heist, which was reported on Thursday. The Monda Market police arrested five individuals on Saturday in connection with the robbery, including the prime suspect, L Dinesh, and his accomplices Mahendar Lohar, M Praveen Kumar, Bhavani Giri, and Umesh, all natives of Rajasthan working in Hyderabad.

According to the police, Dinesh planned the heist and informed Mahendra, who then enlisted the help of the other suspects. When Dinesh left the shop carrying about one kilogram of gold ornaments, Giri and Praveen staged an attack near the Clock Tower and stole the gold.

Dinesh subsequently reported the robbery to his shop owner and accompanied him to the police station. However, police suspicion led to Dinesh’s confession, revealing his involvement in the crime. The police then tracked and arrested the remaining suspects as they attempted to flee. All suspects were produced in court and remanded into custody.

Earlier Incident – Jeweler Robbed of One Kilogram of Gold in Secunderabad Clock Tower

On Thursday evening, a jeweler in Secunderabad was robbed of one kilogram of gold. The jeweler and his salesman were traveling to their shop at Monda Market on a motorcycle, carrying the gold in a bag. Near Clock Tower, two individuals intercepted them, threatened them, and snatched the bag before fleeing.

Upon receiving the report, the police arrived at the scene and began reviewing nearby CCTV footage. Special teams were formed to identify and apprehend the suspects. The police suspect that individuals known to the shop owner or the salesman might be involved in the heist.
