Karimnagar: In a heartwarming union, a 24-year-old man, Mathi Srinivas, married a 23-year-old trans woman, Anjali, after a two-year courtship. The traditional Hindu ceremony took place with the full support of both families in Laxmipur village, Gollapally mandal, Jagtial district.
Srinivas, who had been working in Saudi Arabia, maintained his love for Anjali even while abroad. Upon returning, he convinced both families, leading to their marriage. Anjali, hailing from Myadampally village, and Srinivas are also relatives.
The local transgender association praised the couple and called for more recognition of transgender marriages. They also urged the state government to offer Kalyana Lakshmi scheme benefits to the newlyweds, hoping this marriage will serve as a model for others.
