21 Telangana Special Police (TGSP) Personnel Arrested for Unpermitted Dharna at Indira Park, Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Domalguda police have arrested 21 Telangana Special Police (TGSP) personnel who attempted to stage a dharna at Indira Park without obtaining the necessary permissions. Two cases were registered against them under the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act, 1922, the Police Forces (Restrictions of Rights) Act, 1966, and the BNS Act.

These TGSP personnel gathered at the site, seeking the implementation of an ‘Ek Police Policy’ aimed at standardizing operations within the Police Department. They were taken into custody and later formally arrested. In response, the TGSP issued show-cause notices to those involved.

According to the orders, the actions of these individuals sparked unrest within the Battalion, damaging morale and affecting operational effectiveness. Officials noted that such behavior undermines the disciplinary framework of TGSP and negatively impacts the image of the force, which is committed to maintaining peace and security across Telangana.

A comprehensive investigation into the incidents is in progress, and senior officials have been instructed to monitor Battalion activities to ensure a positive work environment. Additional disciplinary measures are anticipated for any personnel found breaching conduct rules.
