Lucknow, 15 Aug:A 13-year-old girl was raped and killed in UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri district and her dead body found in a sugarcane field, the police said.
The incident took place on Friday, around 130 km from Lucknow, in a village close to the Nepal border. Her body was found in the fields of one of the accused.
The girl was missing from Friday afternoon. “We went looking for her everywhere. Found her in the sugarcane field. Her eyes had been gouged out. Her tongue was cut and strangled with a dupatta,” the father of the girl said.
“The girl’s postmortem has confirmed rape.
The both accused had been arrested now. We will file charges for rape, murder and also under the National Security Act,” said the district police chief.
Ex. UP Chief Minister Mayawati condemned and tweets as:
“After the rape of a Dalit minor in Pakariya village of Lakhimpur Kheri, UP, the brutal killing of his minor again is very sad and shameful. What was the difference between the SP and the present BJP government due to such incidents? The government should take strict action against the culprits of Kheri along with Azamgarh, this demand of BSP.”
Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad also tweets:
“Dalit oppression is at its peak in the BJP government. He was brutally murdered after daring with a Dalit minor in Pakariya village of Lakhimpur Kheri. If it is not the Jungle Raj then what is it called Jungle Raj? Our daughters are not safe, our homes are not safe, there is an atmosphere of fear everywhere. Yogi resign”
